The Powerful Play Subscription is ideal for children, aged 6-24 months, at home or in early years settings. The Subscription materials are all written by Early Years Specialist, Lucie Gray, and based on the new Early Years Framework.
Each fortnight, you will receive a Play Planner with a varied range of Seasonal Play Activities, ready for you to use as you wish. You can use them all as set out on the Play Planner or use it as a flexible guide to fit around your family and childcare arrangements.
Each Play Planner is designed to support the development of:
You can repeat as many activities as you like in 'week two' or use any that you didn't use in 'week one'. Repeating Play Activities is hugely beneficial for early years development; practice really does make perfect.
Alongside the Play Planner, you will receive a sheet of 'Play Cards', with details of each Play Activity ('Grab', 'Set-Up' & 'Play'). The majority of the activities use household objects and materials that you will find in your home; they can also be adapted to your child's ability. The cards can be printed and made into physical Play Cards, or simply saved on your phone/ computer.
In addition, there is a Toy Rotation section, with toy suggestions, book suggestions and a short list of supplementary materials to enhance your child's play.
This is a wonderful way to be part of a community of parents and carers supporting the development of a child in their most formative years, whilst concurrently providing them with skills that will help them become successful life-long learners.
After hitting the subscribe button; you will receive your first installment on the next publication date. "It has really altered how I think about setting a play activity and what I should hope for both of us to get out of it. Everyday objects suddenly offer a much greater playing and learning experience than I had ever expected!
It is really handy having your fortnightly planner, which I print and stick to the fridge for easy access to ideas when we need them. I like that it comes by email as that makes me prepare for the next fortnight. I’ve found it really good to make myself try things with my son that I would normally shy away from, edible mud for example! "

"I have to admit, it's exactly what we were missing. Having planned activities is so helpful for us both. It's so clever how the activities use things you already have at home."
